Plums have a rich history across cultures, often tied to spring, vitality, resilience, protection and love.
While not as central as apples and pomegranates in mythologies, plums were often used in love magic and as offerings to deities of love and beauty. Pomona was the goddess of fruit trees, gardens and orchards and her festival, Vertumnalia, celebrated the changing seasons and the abundance of fruit.
In Japan, plum trees are associated with elegance, purity and protection against evil, often planted as talismans in gardens.
Hand carved, the amethyst plum has a moveable diamond veined leaf and bud and green tsavorite garnet (representing renewal). An opening/closing clasp is included, and the chain is available separately.
